On Saturday the Member for Macarthur presented a cheque to the Campbelltown Camden District Cricket Club, after securing a grant of $4685.00 for the organisation.

The funding is derived from the Stronger Communities Grant program, with Dr Freelander presenting the cheque during the clubs quarter finals over the weekend.

“I am truly pleased to have secured this funding for the club,” said the Member for Macarthur.

The club intends of using the funding to install new flag poles at their grounds, enabling the club to fly national flags, a set of which was also presented to the club by Dr. Freelander on the day.

“The cricket club has a longstanding history in the Macarthur region. I am proud to have been able to support this club, which has supported our community and generations of cricket players over the years.”

With the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science and the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development still processing further grant applications supported by Dr. Freelander, a number of other organisations are set to receive funding over the coming months

“I am looking forward to delivering funding for a number of other important projects. Throughout this grant process, we have had a number of fantastic organisations put in expressions of interests, and I am eager for the Departments to finalise their decision!” said Dr Freelander.

With approximately $150, 000 allocated for funding of capital works and similar projects supported by Dr. Freelander, a number of other eligible organisations are set to receive grants once the Government gives their final approval.
