Dr Mike Freelander MP, the Federal Member for Macarthur, is delighted to announce that the Albanese Government has established a grant program to help fund grassroots multicultural community projects.
The program, known as the Multicultural Grassroots Initiative, is designed to help support grassroots community organisations’ projects of up to $100,000 over two years from 2024-25. Funded initiatives will include:
- Small annual cultural events
- Festivals and celebrations

- Encouraging social participation of isolated community members and interactions among different cultural, ethnic, and social groups, such as intercultural sports programs or art projects
The grant program is aimed at providing consistent and long-term funding to multicultural organisations to create certainty and sustainability, as well as longer lasting results.
This program is part of the Albanese Government’s commitment of over $85 million to the Modernised Multicultural Grants package.
Those wishing to apply can do so through the GrantsConnect website, with applications closing on the 4th November 2024.
Should anyone wishing to apply have any questions, Dr Freelander’s office is happy to provide information further and can be contacted via email, [email protected], via phone, 02 4620 0293, or in person at 37 Queen St, Campbelltown.
