Participating in physical activity and interacting with others is a key element in having a positive, healthy lifestyle & for Dr Mike Freelander MP, the Federal Member for Macarthur, he was very happy to see such activities occurring at a recent Macarthur Football School Holiday Clinic.
The Clinic, which ran from the 6th-31st January, offered both Mixed and Girls-Only sessions and was run in conjunction with Macarthur Bulls FC & the Macarthur Football Association.
Dr Freelander was delighted to attend a Mixed Clinic held at Hurley Park, Campbelltown and see local youth partaking in football classes and enjoying their time socializing with others.
For Dr Freelander, investing in local sport is important, for in December 2024, the Federal Government delivered nearly $155,000 to bolster women and girls participation in football in Macarthur, with the funding being delivered to Bradbury Ambarvale Football Club as part of the Australian Government’s Play Our Way Program.
For Bradbury Ambarvale Football Club, the funding will help them install four new light towers on their field to enable night games and extra training opportunities. This will enable greater use of the fields to enable more sessions for local footballers.
Quotes attributable to Dr Mike Freelander MP, Member for Macarthur:
“By offering these football clinics, Macarthur FC & the Macarthur Football Association are helping ensure our local youth partake in physical & social activities, which is wonderful for their health.
“I thank Macarthur FC for inviting me out and it was wonderful to see their coaching staff at work, including a lovely young man named Hayden, who I cared for when he was a child and am proud to see develop into a fine young man.”
