Residents of Macarthur are being encouraged to make a submission to a new Senate Inquiry into the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Already many people in our community have put forward views about the government’s response so far and sharing their stories about how they have been affected by COVID-19.

The Senate Committee is accepting submissions from businesses, community groups and individuals who have issues that they would like considered by the inquiry or a story they would like to share.

The Committee is interested in hearing from groups or individuals who would like to share their stories about:

  • Experiences with the health system or the government’s health response
  • Experiences with government agencies like Centrelink when trying to access government support payments
  • Personal views about criteria for government support payments
  • Views on government messaging on issues like social gathering restrictions or social distancing rules as well as the impact that these rules are having on our local community.

It’s important that the stories and opinions from our community are part of the inquiry’s considerations and that the voices of Macarthur are heard.

Making a submission is easy and can be done at the Senate COVID-19 Committee website.

Residents are also encouraged to contact Dr Freelander with any specific issues or views via email at [email protected].
