Dr Mike Freelander MP has encouraged Macarthur community groups to consider putting in an Expression of Interest for a chance of securing up to $20,000 in funding for small capital projects.
Dr Freelander said a total funding pool of $150,000 would be available through the 2019 Macarthur Stronger Communities Grants program.
“The program will provide matched funding for cash or in-kind contributions for capital projects which will benefit community groups,” Dr Freelander said.
“Community-based not-for-profit organisations and local government bodies are eligible to apply for grants between $2,500 and $20,000.
“I would encourage all community groups in Macarthur with capital works projects in mind to submit an application.
“In the past, we have been able to secure grants to purchase training and safety equipment for sporting clubs, deliver upgrades to local sporting fields, purchase equipment for front-line homelessness services, as well as upgrading mobility entrances and outdoor learning areas at community facilities.”
Expressions of Interest close on the 14th of September. Applications will be assessed by an independent panel with strong links to the community.
